Cowboys kept their hopes alive by defeating Irving Fatteh by 8 wickets. Irving Fateh made 76 while batting first. Sajid Aziz of Cowboys got a hatrick and finished with figures of 4 for 20 in his 2 overs. Cowboys chased down the total for loss of only 1 wicket and 11 balls to spare but failed to earn the bonus point. They will now have to wait for the outcome of the last game of super 4 round between Irving Fateh and Dallas stars scheduled to be played tonight around 10:15 PM. Bashers have now qualified for the Finals.

Total 4 matches were played on first day of super four round. Batsmen were the clear winner on day one as opposed to group matches where teams struggled to post a decent total.

In first match, Dallas stars defeated Cowboys in a nail bitter by 4 wickets. Tariq of Stars smashed 3 sixes in last 3 balls to snatch the game away from Cowboys. Scorecard

In second match, Cowboys came back strongly and defeated the Bashers (arguably, the strongest team of the tournament) by 11 runs. Scorecard

In third match, Bashers posted a huge total of 145 against Irving Fateh. Bashers opening batsmen opened an array of sixers and posted the first 100+ runs openng partnership of the tournament. Both Bilal and Tayyab scored quick fifties. At the end Fateh scored 91 runs thanks to well paced innings of 54 by Irfan. Scorecard

In the fourth match, Bashers posted the highest total of the tournament (153). Once again their opening batsmen posted 100+ runs. Both Bilal and Tayyab scored 50 and 76 respectively. Stars did reasonably well and finished with 127/4 denying the bashers an extra bonus point. Scorecard

After the successful experiment of quarter final matches, we are excited to announce that we will be publishing live score and ball by ball commentary of all super 4 matches and the final of 4th ICI cricket tournament. Total 6 matches will be played during super 4 round where all teams will start with 0 points. Same bonus point rule will be applied in super 4 round as used in group matches.

05/12/2008 In a very interesting match of this tournamnet, Irving Faateh convincingly defeated Al-Elites to proceed to the Super 4 round. In the other match, Carrollton Bashers defeated MidCities XI to book their spot in the semi finals. Both of the winners join FW Cowboys and Dallas Stars in Super 4 stage where they will play with each other in round robin fashion. Top two teams in the points table will play in Finals.

05/11/2008 Al-Elites will play Irving Faateh and MicCities XI will play Carrollton Bashers to opt for their places into interesting Super-4 round where winners of all Quarter Finals will play together in a round robin fashion instead of a Semi-Final. Top two teams from Super-4 league will play in Finals.

05/10/2008 Dallas Stars defeated Irving Cruisers and FW Cowboys defeated Euless Stallions to move forward to Super 4 round.

Brilliant effort from Cruisers' Aamir Saghir with bat saw his side post a total of 121 in 8 overs. Cruisers either needed a victory or atleast one bonus point from this match with very less margin of loss by Carrollton Bashers. However, Cruisers at point were cruising towards the victory with Bashers needing 24 in last over. Cruisers' Haneef could not restrict Bashers to achieve that target in his last over while he did not get the support from the fielders as well dropping couple of catches and giving away boundaries. As none of the top three conditions as mentioned in the Tournament Rules page to determine the winner from the group points table could be met, we had to determine the winner between EPIC and Cruisers on the basis of Net Run Rate calculations as shown in the table above.
